A cross-sectional study determining the prevalence of musculoskeletal diseases in automotive factory workers

Background/Aim: Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) develop due to exposure physical and psycho-social factors in the work environment. The diagnostic criteria prevalence of WMSDs are not well established. In this study, we aimed determine which occur automotive industry workers what underlying risk may be.
 Methods: A cross-sectional study was designed that included 200 who were diagnosed with a WMSD by radiological examination therapy rehabilitation outpatient clinic past year. We recorded demographic data, diagnosis names for patients.
 Results: our most common low back disorder (66.5%), followed neck shoulder (58%) upper extremity (23%) disorders. There statistically significant increase occurrences shoulder-neck diseases, extremity, back-lower diseases inappropriate posture (P < 0.001). Workers exerted heavy effort or performed repetitive motions more likely experience 0.001) as = 0.020 P 0.001, respectively); there no change incidence 0.538).
 Conclusion: is serious health economic problem. found lower extremities problems types individuals working sector. Not using proper while causes shoulders, neck, extremities. Employees sector should be encouraged use good ergonomics.
